BoliOptics Recommendation:
The type of microscope you select depends on which factor is the most important for you.

Digital Microscope
If you are looking to go through or inspect a lot of coins quickly, and look for error coins, we recommend the Digital Microscopes. You can easily and quickly see the image of the coin on the screen. This provides relief for your eyes, and viewing fatigue.

The Digital Microscopes that have a built in LCD Screen is easy to use. Just turn it on and start inspecting! You can also take photos and videos, store them on a memory card, and transfer the photos onto your computer.

Stereo Microscope
If you are looking for a low cost microscope, we recommend the Stereo Microscopes. You can see the coins by looking through the eyepieces of the microscope, and get a 3 dimensional image of the coin. 20X Magnification is usually sufficient for viewing coins. Any additional magnification is just icing on the cake.

The 90° angle is a great, cost effective option. However, if you plan on looking at coins for a longer time, we recommend the 45° angle stereo microscope. The 45° angle makes viewing more comfortable, so you don't need to bend your neck for long periods of time for viewing.

Magnifying Lamp
If you are looking for a multi-functional tool, we would recommend one of our Magnifying Lamps. It doubles as a work lamp for your desk, and help you see any other small details you might need. It's a great tool to have on hand for removing splinters, seeing tiny details, and any other purpose where vision aid is required.

The best part is you can also use the microscope for other hobbies, such as inspecting insects, plants, stamps, bank notes, or give it as a gift to a friend or young child, and fuel their curiosity!
